   Under capitalism all the money is going to flow to the lowest point: to the cheapest carbon-credits that lie about how effective they are.

   That's how you get complete nonsense like planting a tree and discounting the next 100 years of its growth and carbon absorption towards the present day.
   Or not even plant a new tree but start demanding protection money for existing forests.

     Can (voluntary) #carboncredits play a role in moves to combat the #clinatecrisis?

     Well, not really - just one more scam that is unravelling when it meets reality;

     Carbon credits now look more like #greenwashing than a plausible #environmental strategy!
