@monocles released a massively improved version of the #android #xmpp app #monocleschat (#fdroid ).
The input line has been redesigned. Emojis are easier to handle now. It should look more familiar to users of other messengers.
You can set a background for the chatview.
Reactions can be send more easily (message selection).
The usage of the HW AEC has been disabled for the #Fairphone4 leading to a better videocall experience for #FP4 owners.

The chat dialog is: User A: "I went for a bike ride this morning." User B: "Great photo. Where did you go?" User A: "I went to the lake." User B: "Let me know next time. Then I'LL come with you." User A: "Of course. No problem." The newly designed input line of monocles chat is shown at the bottom of the screen. From left to right it contains a emoji icon, an empty field where threads can be chosen, the text input field, a microphone icon and a paper clip icon for attachments.
