Has anyone made a Birbsite archive offline reader? I realized that at some point I might have to sift through all of my old bullshit to pull out threads and such to rework them into something hopefully a bit more permanent.

@zorinlynx Yeah, but they are a MESS. I need something that organizes the data.

@dosnostalgic Birbsite archives are HTML file trees that can be browsed and even searched with a web browser offline. At least they were when I downloaded my archives.

@lunarloony Nah, this is to put up your archive online to be publicly searchable. While this is also something I would like to do, this option doesn't work for me as it requires the archives to be under 2GB. Mine is 45 and counting. 😅

@dosnostalgic Not sure if this is exactly what you're after, but it might work for your needs. It takes your birdsite archive and makes searchable HTML out of it.

@dosnostalgic Yikes. I think mine was pretty big, too - basically had to strip any videos and compress the images down to nothing.

@lunarloony There are forks now that support much larger sizes. But I still think mine's a tad too big even for them.

I remember a Python one that turned it into Markdown, but I don't remember what it was called?

@dosnostalgic Once You've downloaded your archive from Twitter, this allows you to view your stuff offline in a more Twitter-like interface: https://github.com/timhutton/twitter-archive-parser
