In Italy, a mysterious individual is cutting down several "autovelox" speed traps with a "flessibile" (angle grinder).
Italian social media is highly supportive of the initiative and created the superhero myth of Fleximan 😂

Of course #Fleximan has a catchy song! 😂
Lyrics:
Non puoi multare... è inarrestabile
Non puoi multare... lui è introvabile
Non puoi multare... col suo flessibile
Non puoi multare... con Fleximan
You can't fine... he's unstoppable
You can't fine... he's uncatchable
You can't fine... with his grinder
You can't fine... with Fleximan!
@bekopharm I wonder how much would be the fine for being caught destroying speed traps... and whether Fleximan's supporters would get together to crowd-source it 🍿
@codewiz that's like.. pretty dumb?
@bekopharm @xelot I don't own a car, but I've seen Italian speed traps positioned right after an unnecessary 30 km/h sign on a straight road where the speed limit is normally 50 or 80 km/h.
I can see how these would anger most Italian drivers.
@xelot @codewiz that's naive. Let me guess: you commute by car?
Just stick to the limit. If you need 5 minutes extra adjust your gorram alarm clock!
@bekopharm @codewiz depends on location
@xelot @codewiz and this is where you are in error. It's not just about the current situation but also about noise, pollution, conditions of the road e.g. with rain, a problematic merger ahead and whatnot. Don't tell me you have all thr facts because you don't "see" it. Ask the local community gov why this thing was raised. They can tell you. cuz they payed for it in the first place.
@bekopharm @codewiz speed limit on the road in the middle of nowhere doesn't make sense, so some actions are justified
@hypolite dead gods now you talk the same crap? The solution for this is using a dashcam so you can complain and no sorry you can not claim that Italy is so corrupt that it raises stationary speeding cams FOR PROFIT. Damn it, are you listening to yourself? What is forcing you to drive too fast???
