@hypolite @bekopharm I no longer live in Italy and I have no evidence of corruption other than the suspicious autovelox placement, but Italians seem overwhelmingly supportive of Fleximan. I learned about it today from national TV news: they made an attempt to report from a neutral standpoint, but the journalist couldn't hide a smile ðŸ¤

A summary search shows that transparency.org rates Germany 79/100 for corruption perception (the higher the least corruption people perceive) while rating Italy at 41/100, it's a completely different cultural paradigm even though both countries are in the EU.
Still, I agree with you on the defensiveness and self-rationalization of drivers, but I believe it is irrelevant to this particular situation.
