"I have a hard time believing that YouTube would be unable to keep business afloat without the revenue generated by behavioral-tracking advertisements,” EFF’s Daly Barnett told @theregister. “It’s a lazy and deliberately malicious move on their part." https://www.theregister.com/2024/04/16/youtube_ad_blocking/
@eff@theregister Let me explain why I think it's sh***y behaviour:
1. The majority is still not using an ad-blocker so it's not going to be the major revenue boost at the cost of behaviour tracking. 2. Use of ad-blocker was recommended by the FBI due to malicious ads. 3. I would have watched the ads (1-2 ads per video), but they have increased this number to (3-4 ads per video). This much as is way too much.
@eff: Recently the amount of Ads on platforms like YouTube has been driving me mad. I realise it cost money to run these platforms, but I wish they'd get better targeting. No!! "I Really am NOT interested in currency trading Forex!!!"
