The photograph shows a middle-aged woman with glasses, dressed in a summery blouse and trousers on a sidewalk. She is carrying a large handbag in one hand and holding a child with the other. The little girl with short hair in a summer dress can only be seen from behind, however, because she has changed direction and is marching purposefully away. Their hands are knotted together, but neither of them seems to want to change their minds. A typical parental situation, captured photographically at the right moment and therefore charmingly funny.
