1. Photography. A black and white photo of a group of children playing on a long slide. The picture shows a lively scene on a hill, which is overgrown with grass on the side. A curved metal slide leads from top to bottom and serves as the center of the action. A child climbs up the hill while another child slides down in the middle of the slide. In the foreground, a teenager stands with his legs apart at the end of the slide and looks up at this child. Two more children are standing next to him and others are standing at the top of the hill. The children are dressed in woolen sweaters or jackets and jeans. A multi-storey concrete apartment building can be seen in the background. Although the natural light in the photo is subdued, it radiates the vibrancy and energy of the children playing in a rather poor residential area. A fleeting beautiful moment captured forever. Info: The photo is from the series "D'un Jour, L'autre" by Belgian photographer Martine Franck (1938-2012), a collection of over a hundred pictures. These are her favorite photos from her 30-year career. Martine Franck was also the wife of the famous photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson, but her narrative style is different. She skillfully captures fleeting moments, is interested in people rather than effects and tries to capture moods.
