It is such a simple idea, and it works totally as intended - something as simple and accessible as Snake instantly becomes too complicated to quickly master. 😅

To play on modern Windows you'll need a DirectX wrapper, such as dgVoodoo.
To fix sound stuttering, max out the buffer size in sound options.
