@stigatle I tried Yaics, but i liked more to have a button of something like this to star a new quit, no the Ctrl+n.
I missed also a way to share an image in a quit (or I didn't found it)
Keep on hackin' and doing a great work!! :)

I want to write more on my site https://stigatle.no - but I'm out of ideas, I need to figure out some posts I can do, I want to be more active there.
-
@jansegers I do not use mastodon :) - but maybe I should write about the GNUSocial client I maintain , #yaics https://gitlab.com/stigatle/yaics
I could do that, write about how I came to develop on it, and what I've added and so on. That would work.
-
@jansegers yup, I know of it but I do not have a account on that..
Seen a lot of people that are using it, seems like a good service that a lot of people like.
-
What makes it better then those you mention? (I have not looked into it).
-
@stigatle reading on it that you run a diaspora pod!! :)
-
Yes I do :)
-
@stigatle as a Diaspora user (in a different pod): Thanks a lot!!
Also reading about your gnusocial qt client. And packaged for openSUSE!! :)
-
Sounds like the public timeline on GNUSocial\Qvitter (federates with all servers etc)..
The reason why I have not looked into mastodon yet in any way is because I felt it was just the same as GNUSocial\Qvitter - so no reason to move over to it.
And I've been active here on quitter.no for so long that I feel here is my home :)
-
I'm not sure if the package has been updated in a while, that is something I need to fix, I need to get better at packing releases, and better at releasing. I need to get Yaics into debian so that it flows to other distros and just installs like any other software there.
I've been a bit lazy on that side of things to be honest.
-
@victorhck it was @xrevan86 who did the work with the openSUSE package.
-
@stigatle installed yaics-0.5-1.9.x86_64.rpm
-
@jansegers Yeah, same on this end, I notice no difference if a user is on server X or Y or mastodon and so on. works very well.
-
Same as here :)
'Timeline'
'Notifications'
'public timeline'
'The whole known network'
etc. So again it's the same..
-
I'm on https://quitter.no , I use Yaics on my computer ( https://gitlab.com/stigatle/yaics ) or just browser.
Browser on android as well, works well for what I need.
-
I see what you mean now. Well, I still feel the same, that's just a UI thing, something I'd think of as a minor detail.
-
You inspired me today, so now I'm building new packages, I will update the binaries tomorrow ( the ones I've linked to at https;//stigatle.no/yaics/ ),
Currently fixing the windows build, which is always a pain in the ass due to dependencies.
-
@victorhck Typed the link wrong, https://stigatle.no/yaics/
-
Yeah, I understand, that is something I want to fix. I want the 'new status' window to be embedded at the bottom of the app, or at the side (or let the user choose where to have it embedded), So that it would look more like a xmpp window (or chat window) if you get what I mean.
Also being able to post images is one feature I really want too, just not sure how to do that yet, but I'm sure I'll get that solved soon.
-
And thanks for your input!
-
@stigatle a pleasure! I'm not developer so I can't help you in that way! I only can bother you with my comments! :)
