ok heres a quick rundown

The way comics are distributed is what's killing it, not SJW shit or any of that, those are just symptoms of hiring retards on tumblr over real artists. If comics are such an obsolete medium, why are english translated manga dominating the shelves? Because they're actually readable, self contained stories that don't require you to have a wikis worth of backstory knowledge to understand.

Capeshit:
>released in full color pamphlets, expensive to print.
>part of a greater "universe", so writers can't make any changes to the canon without approval from the top.
>stuck with the same characters for decades, everything has already been done.
>fucking illegible garbage. it's wordswordswordswords with speech bubbles everywhere and undynamic illustrations of superheroes making poses. no kid is going to read that
>very difficult to get physical copies of an entire series if it isn't in an anthology

Mango:

Why would anyone new want to get into capeshit? Some kid somewhere who loves Spiderman but has never read any of the comic books will pick up an issue of Amazing Spiderman #32498892 and think "what the fuck" when he sees that Spiderman died 3 times and Peter Parker is in an alternate dimension and also Gwen became a superhero too and Doc Octopus is actually his father. Meanwhile, some other kid will grab a copy of Naruto vol 1 with his greasy little hands from the bookstore, pay 6 dollars and fall into the weebhole.

note: there are many quality comics from america that I love. There are even some great capeshit stories that I enjoy, but the vast majority of post 70's capeshit is stupid and unreadable.
