     @ocdtrekkie @schestowitz Microsoft re-engineered Skype so that they could hand the data over to their NSA buddies. I think some of the Snowden documents cover it in detail.

     @ocdtrekkie @schestowitz the source documents are around somewhere, but the TL;DR is that they can get the metadata, chat text and audio stream.

     @ocdtrekkie @schestowitz if you think I'm trying to mislead you then the best option is to read the source materials on Skype which came from Snowden. That will tell you all you need to know about the motivations of the respective players.
