@hannes2peer I detect a @yoyo308 on this video https://quitter.se/attachment/3698715
-
@hannes2peer Also the title of the video refers to the last shown tweet as if it were a joke, by a far-right press media account.
-
@hannes2peer聽It says "Quitter, a new social network for the radical left has born".
I'm still feeling a bit salty about that.
-
@espectalll i know what it says, what's the problem?
-
@hannes2peer You know, the problem where people didn't come or stay on Quitter because it was just a "commie Twitter". People fell for that.
-
@hannes2peer No hard feelings, but it still bothers me x3
-
@espectalll i don't see the problem with being the commie twitter :)
-
@hannes2peer The problem is that Quitter is being associated with a political spectrum, which then is associated with all of GNU Social.
-
@hannes2peer No other interesting features. Just communist.
You do understand why Spaniards went back to Twitter so quickly, right?
-
@espectalll because they haven't read marx?
-
@hannes2peer No, because they don't agree with Marx, having read him or not. People have opinions, surprisingly enough.
-
@espectalll but did you watched the video???聽 "the twitter for the extreme (*) left-wing people" it's said by Intereconom铆a, an Spanish extreme right-wing TV channel. And the speaker said that is a good joke.
(*) "Extrema izquierda" it's said on video, not "radical". Radical means that takes the matters from roots, and if you are radical left-wing you are "real" left-wing, but "radical" it's used by mass manipulation media as a bad meaning about those people who put containers on fire after demonstrations in order to said that radical people are that way.
Anyway, a service that said at the header as a way to leave capitalist networks it's OK for radical left-wing people like me. :)

@colegota @hannes2peer Yes, did you read what I said?
"as if it were a joke, by a far-right press media account"
-
@colegota @hannes2peer @espectalll I don't think people went back to Twitter because of the "extreme leftishness" of Quitter. They went back because they wanted a larger community with more people sharing their interests (even if those are "mujeres y hombres y viceversa") and did not care too much about free software. Here we are relatively few, and the topics are clearly biased, I am afraid.
On the other hand... any bad thing that Intereconom铆a says about Quitter is good publicity, can we agree on this last thing? XD
-
@auroch @hannes2peer @colegota I don't think so. Why do you think we couldn't build a larger community? How did people react overall?
-
@hannes2peer @colegota @auroch If you were like I was on Twitter, *everyone* was already calling it a dead, commie-only social network.
-
@hannes2peer @colegota @auroch And people who entered, from what I could tell, did so only because of Barbija. The public was very specific.
-
@hannes2peer @colegota @auroch On the mean time, there was barely any effort to communicate the true value of GNU Social, other than a blog.
-
@hannes2peer @colegota @auroch And as soon as Barbija got their Twitter account back, everyone was gone. Everything was for nothing.
-
@hannes2peer @colegota @auroch The last point I can agree on tho.
-
@espectalll @colegota @hannes2peer We may both be right on this one, people have different reasons for leaving or staying. Let's see what happens with Mastodon! there is a new wave, and lot's of nodes are being created (I think many of them will close soon, and that will be a hit). A mastodontic bubble?
-
@espectalll @colegota @hannes2peer Snobish people do snobish things, don't be sad about that :-) we are probably better without them.
-
@auroch @hannes2peer @colegota There's at least two Japanese companies doing their best this time around. So who knows.
-
@auroch @hannes2peer @colegota I guess? But I wish I could tell my friends, family and such to come here. Right now it's hard :/
-
@hannes2peer @colegota @auroch I'm getting more and more worried about Twitter, yet the most interesting content to me is still there x3
-
@espectalll @colegota @hannes2peer Also, maybe some people is dissappointed about the "censorship". Many nodes do not accept things like porn, also, a little while ago, all the Ultras Sur decided to make an account in Quitter.es, and (luckily) were kicked out soon enough.
-
@auroch @hannes2peer @colegota Perhaps they don't know that in order to not be censored you need to create your own node?
-
@espectalll maybe I misunderstood you. I was answering to this message: https://quitter.es/notice/2683765
-
@espectalll @colegota @hannes2peer Precisely! or chose another one :-P.
-
@colegota The message has been correctly displayed on your node. Keep in mind it was chained with the previous one (also displayed right)
