At da core of both jealousy & compersion is da belief that something good has happened. What distinguishes compersion & jealousy is whether it feels good or bad that something good has happened 2 someone else. Like all emotions, this meta-emotion can vary moment2moment. You can feel both at once. Compersion and jealousy are not opposites.
In fact, in many ways, compersion and jealousy are almost identical in composition -- more like hot & cold water than anything.
