     @moonman emperors who choose/adopt heirs are the best, if you pick your son as your successor it should be regarded as a weak and selfish bitch move and the young king should get no respect. the amount of disasters that could've been averted without hereditary succession in place is nuts. plus peasants are less likely to be bitter and enviously hate monarchs if they think their son could be chosen one day
