I am sure animalists and !vegan will have a problem with this too. Moreover when they are responsible for the release of thousands of american minks from farms. https://quitter.es/url/1128294

@auroch what's the option that causes less suffering?

@moshpirit To protect, and to be able to reintroduce the european mink, we need to kill all the invasive american minks.

@auroch but this is no problem if less animals are going to suffer

@moshpirit Therefore, should we kill all predatory species?

      in reply to
@auroch no because the herbivores would overpopulate and die anyway by starvation, probably while destroying the ecosystem

@moshpirit But what if one species of invasive carnivore has replaced almost completely another species of carnivore? The solution would be to kill the invasive carnivores and captive breed the endangered species of carnivore to further release them to the wild (by the way, feeding them meat).

@auroch If the invasive carnivore is not a problem for the population of herbivores I wouldn't care which carnivore eats them. In this situation killing this new species would be a stupidity. I don't care about species themselves, I care about the individuals who compose them, which are the ones who suffer. Species is just an abstract thing to designate these individuals.

@moshpirit And that exactly is why animalism and veganism is against ecology, conservation and environmentalism.

@auroch why? You can't care about both things? There's more: doesn't caring about the environment imply saving more animals and therefore making less suffering (which is veganism goal)?
