@ckeen @senatorarmstrong all the privacy features of mastodon (unlisted posts, follower-only posts, direct messages) were implemented in way that silently defaulted to full public on all non-mastodon instances without a way to notice. thus, private posts and even direct messages would end up visible to everyone.
