@eal also interstingly, eugen used to hate activitypub, so the current "we always wanted to move away from ostatus" narrative is just a post-hoc rationalisation.
- 御園はくい repeated this.

@roka @eal it's because he implemented privacy in ostatus in a broken way and instead of fixing that, decided that AP would solve the problem.

@lain @eal The more I argued with Gargron, the better I came to know their dialectic. First they counted on the outdatedness of the documentation, and then, when there was no other way out, they themselves simply played recalcitrant. If all this didn't help, they pretended not to understand, or, if challenged, they blocked the server in a hurry, quoted reasons which, regardless if you accepted them, his followers immediately called you a nazi, and then, if again attacked, gave ground and pretended that you're the one that's salty. Whenever you tried to attack this apostle, your hand closed on a jelly-like slime which divided up and poured through your fingers, but in the next moment collected again. But if you really struck him so telling a blow that, observed by the wider fediverse, he couldn't help but agree, and if you believed that this had taken you at least one step forward, your amazement was great the next day. The Rochko had not the slightest recollection of the day before, he rattled off his same old nonsense as though nothing at all had happened, and, if indignantly challenged, affected amazement; he couldn't remember a thing, except that he had always wanted to move away from OStatus.
