   @yogthos how much energy/ materials does it use to produce? Can anyone do it, or is it patented and/or requires capital-intensive machinery?

     @yogthos if you used non-GMO, organic soy as the feedstock that wouldn't be an issue. But is the production process itself under patent?

     @yogthos I also worry that industrial-scale vegan products negate many of the eco-benefits of vegan diets, eg being high in local produce

     @yogthos it's definitely a sign that interest in vegan diets are growing, I agree that's a positive.
