Just to be unequivocal and clear about one thing: 5% is not an industry-standard processing fee amount.  The amount I get charged by paypal is approximately (but not always) around 1.9%.  The amount I got charged by Stripe when I used it briefly was 2.1%  Patreon IS taking at least a chunk of that 5% for themselves, whatever they keep telling people
