@likecroft Yes and no. This book is just a compilation and re-narration of ancient tales. I once read an adaption of the Nibelung which your book is very much based on, I guess. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nibelung

  @likecroft I guess Nibelung-based and -related stories were quite common here but seem to be decreasing. I think (no evindence avail.) it's somehow related to the nationalist appeal why they are no so popular anymore. Furthermore, Nibelung is quite violent so it's not a real childhood memory.
