   bank loans aren't a great way to bootstrap a business when you are looking at large amounts of capital.

   (this is a particular problem for cooperatives because they are structured in a way that makes taking investors impossible)

   what you want is investors, who will give you a deal closer to what you are looking for in return for shares of your (eventual) profits.
