> I hail from Finland, where there are more saunas than cars. People start going to sauna before they can walk and during their formative years see naked people of all shapes and sizes. Quite early on boys learn that there are bulging bellies, drooping pecs and equipment of different sizes. Girls see real-life sagging breasts and less than flattering thighs.
>But because American culture labels nakedness as 'embarassing', people don't see each other nude very often and their image of human bodies is much influenced by the media. So normal becomes embarassing and natural something to be hidden.
