I like some web things to be desktop apps with tray icons, because in my browsers I'm always opening, closing and shifting tabs around, so I like some things to hide away there in the tray until I need them.
The only Gnu/Linux desktop client for #Mastodon is #MSTDN - https://github.com/rhysd/Mstdn

It's one flaw is that the tray icon thingy doesn't work properly. It like crashes and closes all the time (but the main window stays open). #IRONIC
Well, that and there have been no updates in almost a year
