   @surge Twitter-like API that GNU Social uses, does require something to be put into note's text. The server responds with the error in a case no text provided: 'Client must provide a 'status' parameter with a value.'
   The only solution that I know is to put at least a dot into a text field. Does anybody know anything better?

     @surge It's interesting that Twitter itself allows posting an image without any text. I just tested this with #AndStatus: https://twitter.com/AndStatus1/status/994640155825922048
