@kb @vaartis I think Rust's cost of learning, development and mainteinance is going down really quick. In particular, the 2nd edition of the Rust book has been finished, the 2018 milestone, which will be ̣— in their own words — the "productivity" milestone, is almost finished (Rust ~1.30 or so), and libraries are getting mature as the language features they use stabilize. I think Rust should easily get to a sweet spot of being good enough for all stuff that doesn't need to be interpreted.
