if someone is already not doing well, and then suddenly some big n bad political thing happens, a massive, unavoidable stream of that event is more than enough to turn that bad mood far worse

people come here to escape the stream

that doesnt mean people dont discuss politics though! its always a huge subject! but, people try to consider those who just cant handle it right now when talking about them, and give them the choice to opt out
