      @ondiz It is very taxon-depending but evolutionary rates are orders of magnitude slower than the current rate of environmental change. The capacity of dispersal seems key then, but it is very variable.

      @ondiz I am afraid that we can only talk about mitigation strategies right now. Aside preventing any further warming, there is research on how to improve ecosystem resilience, also how to improve connectivity, assisted migration, how to plan our protected area network so it is more resilient to climate change and dispersal... but loss is inevitable.
