smartphones are over engineered carrier pigeon and stick in the ground :
- require constant link to abstract energy source called "electricity" to be alive
- can't transmit physical items
- requires huge and expensive infrastructure to transmit abstract messages called "data"
- You can't eat it when you're hungry
