@zacts I tend to use it when breaking phrases that already have commas but which also don't deserve to be in a new period. "The freedoms of free/libre software according to #FreeSoftware definition: to use and reuse copies of the original program and its adaptations, for any purpose; to study and adapt, and reuse these in the same consumer or product unit; to share and *sell* - both by unlimited quantity - copies of the original; the same as before for the copies of adaptations."
