FWIW, I don't think there is anything wrong with being a housewife or with motherhood. I don't think you lose your agency because you do those things.
I think that bringing the next generation up and keeping a clean and tidy environment, managing the household and cooking... these are admirable things. Everyone should know how to do these things, they mean you have more agency rather than less because you are independent. You know how to be independent, you could look after yourself at home.
It seems that too often these things get tied to men because they typically earned money for the household. But if you only ever see that, then you miss out on how admirable those skills are. To be able to do those well... that is something else. Not everyone can do that.
