We are going to be writing up some docs for caching steam content, windows updates and more as a formal how to soon.
These services rely on DNS [poisoning] to be effective.
This is a well know form of attack and in this context should be benign.
HOWEVER
We are using upstream software and DNS lists that we do not maintain. We trust the upstream developers to act in good faith but if they are hacked or decide to be poopy humans....
We are debating how big of a font to use to call attention to this possibility. We are also wondering how much text to devote to the implications.
