@morph> those are very low output. You will need lots of them. The strip I use is 13500 lumen over 5 m.
Are we talking about the same? :)
Well, my fish tank it's 100x40 cm wide and 48 depth. I was thinking in using it first to bread the seeds (maybe with the cover to keep humidity) and later for grow (removing the cover).
How much lumen do you think I need for it?
@morph, while the cover had before a couple of fluorescent tubes, it did not work any more so I can't use normal LED tubes with old design.-

I'd like to have opinions and suggestions about it.
The tube light system does not work, the idea it's to use the empty tank without cover.
For light I'm not sure if buy an all-in-one" compact tube [1] or maybe made a combination of linear lights [2].
Also read that combinations of blue and red leds are better that just white.
What do you recommend?

morph (morph@gs.morphtown.de)'s status on Sunday, 08-Jan-2017 18:58:20 UTC morph @colegota It depends upon how much natural light will get to your plants. The less natural light the more important will be a combination from e.g. a red planting light tube and a cold white one. I think just the white LED row is not enough, better get tubes, also cheap oldschool flourescent tubes are possible. Of course if one wants to invest, they can always get optimized fancy stuff like that … https://gs.morphtown.de/url/75479

All my windows are North oriented, while the window at this room it's wide, it's indirect light.
I'd like the idea of use LED as a way of less power consumption instead of fluorescent or old light systems.
About colors, did read that blue was better for glow and red for blossom. Then my idea was to combine in some rows of that linear strips. But using red and blue lights maybe convert my room in a night club. ;)
Maybe with those strips I can play with use different colours at different times, and also maybe with those ones RGB that you can change the colour at any moment.
Also read that hight temperature whites (around 6000ºK) are also good.
I'm totally mess now! :) -

.- 5m strip 6000ºK 1400lm 35€
.- 5m 3400lm 80€
.- 90cm tube 1000lm 18€
.- 5m RGB (you can choose the color) 40€
I'm thinking in use a rectangular surface like a shelf and paste lights at bottom (not sure if use the fish tank cover) maybe alternating 1m strips between white light with RGB in red or blue color.
The 80€ strips give more lumen (3400) while double price. I can afford it if necessary. While 3 tubes (not the old but modern ones) gives 3000lm for 54€ but more space and volume.
Any suggestions?

morph (morph@gs.morphtown.de)'s status on Wednesday, 11-Jan-2017 19:56:38 UTC morph @colegota Not all LED tubes fit in any socket for flourescent light tubes. It’s got to do with that thing https://gs.morphtown.de/url/76196 ... all old flouro lights need a starter which LEDs don’t.

It's a box with different colour leds mixing red, blue, orange and yellow, 90 in total giving 90W and 8500 lumen
The box also contains a fan that makes a little noise (just the wind, but I don't like that so much)

Well, my friends says that truck drivers will stop under my window. ;)
It's an idea to amortize the investment.
My aim it's to put the tank cover while seeds germination, and later without the cover when growing. Then maybe I'll need some fan inside. -
