   After a long time did a cycling trip. Travelled 38km to Kallanai dam in the Cauvery river, while enjoying lush green farmland. Actually its the first time I could see endless farmland. In horrible drought of 2016 I remember that this farmland was mostly uncultivated.

     There was also a sad sight - a dead rotting cow. If this was 20 years ago, vultures would have eaten it ensuring a safe disposal. Now, it only encourages feral dogs who do not effectively dispose of the carcass and can spread diseases.

     The population of vultures were decimated by 99.9% due to usage of diclofenac drug in cattle. Vultures eating cattle carcasses with diclofenac died from kidney failure.
