Someone had to make an effort to exclude disabled people in a workplace. And also, if you see disabled people? Lots of people had to make an effort to make it safe and accessible. There had to be transportation, accommodations, continual support from management AND HR AND co-workers. Not to say it's still not difficult. Just to say: it took pro-person, pro-worker infrastructure that is in place.
