Can anyone help me applying this tutorial onto new ubuntu/debian based distros versions ?

Hello,
I'm looking to install Spiral Knights on my linux mint 18/18.1 cinnamon, but I don't understand what I'm supposed to do about the java part. It's no longer that old java version, and I don't find a file/folder that correspond to what I'm looking for in order to replace the name.
