I barely noticed the Indian smartphone makers like Micromax - primarily because they did not offer anything new compared to the foreign smartphone makers. But now this video tells something which I didn't know - that Indian smartphone makers where just rebranding Chinese phones. They did not invest in manufacturing anything and hence could not customize their product or offer good aftermarket support. When the Chinese came, they took over the market easily. There were other factors too - like Indian smartphone companies trying to operate in high profit margins right from the start.
