The most influential teacher I've known is my late father. He was born in northern Oklahoma to wheat-farmers who ran whiskey during and after prohibition across the Kansas border. He was a fine artist, photographer, mechanic, adobe contractor, and one of the most interesting people I've ever known. I have spent entire summers in his studio asking him questions about art, history, science, personal relationships, and who knows what else.
I try to live my life like him.
And I miss him terribly.
