Solved an annoying problem in my arch linux OS - a couple of startup jobs will try and timeout after 90s, but they always fail, resulting in a long boot time of about 2 mins. Now after trying to unsuccessfully disable the startup jobs, I personally went and shot down all startup script files. Not a clean removal because during boot the startup scripts show as failed, but since they fail immediately, it does the job. The boot time was reduced to <1min
