On the other hand, I'm really glad I have some guitar chops, even if they're rough. Guitar is an absolute cornerstone of music, and the fact that you can get a music degree without touching one is unimaginable.

I also really love playing bass.

And I think playing percussion, and especially cymbal shopping, has taught me to listen for new depths of nuance.

If nothing else I have a huge respect for anyone who achieves mastery at any of these disciplines.
