It's migration season.
Instance closing? Wrong fit? Need an alt? Have a friend you wanna get on the fediverse?
Go into your settings and lock your account temporarily. Then view all of your authorized followers. Find the ones your recognize from friend's handles, or that you have the most connections to. You can unlocknyour account once you've found a few instances to look at.
Migration is a way of building your experience here, it doesn't have to look a certain way.
