   I really like pixelfed! But for some reason several of my photos are posted sideways when I upload them :/
   also I would love to be able to change the preview of the full picture on my feed like I can here on mastodon...

     Same here, especially with photos coming from Canon DSLRs.

     I've actually created a ticket for it a while back:
