    You're on the fediverse, not a centralised site. There is no "one person".

    It's up to each Fediverse instance owner to decide how they run their instance, what the rules are, who gets to be a member and who they federate with.

    If someone doesn't like it, they can go to another instance or set up their own.

    That's how this place has always worked. That's the central theme of the "what is mastodon?" intro video:

      p.s. Just to make clear, the same principle applies to apps: there is no one app for the Fediverse, it's an open platform so anyone can write one.

      There's a variety of apps to choose from and you can use an instance directly from the browser.

      This isn't like Twitter etc where a central authority decides the software you use.

      This isn't like Twitter where a central authority approves apps.

      There's obviously a smaller choice of apps than instances, so you could say the bar for blocking an instance should be higher, but in extreme cases (and IMHO this is an extreme case) it is ok for the app developer to make a decision like this.
