First of all, I have to say that I hate people who use a CW with the title “Unpopular opinion” only to state the most mainstream POV imaginable.

But that's not my unpopular opinion. What I wanted to say is this: The 80s were a piece of crap. And I should know. I lived through all of them. You shouldn't romanticise that shit decade. Yes, there were good things, like The Breakfast Club, WarGames, New Order songs and UY, but, in general, it was a net negative, just like this one.
