     @lain but are they expensive to process in Mastodon?
     
     Other thought is that there are some instances where you just don't want the content hosted on your platform at all as it looks bad. Makes me wonder if we should make it possible for instance admins to require all federated content hosted on your server be viewed by logged in users.
     
     That could cut down on some of the damage of having a copy of unsavory things.
