I have some thoughts about death of the author vs word of god canon and you arent gonna like any of them.

I think both sides of this coin are selectively used by content creators to suit their purposes.

I also think content consumers use both when it suits them for their purposes.

Ive seen some creators make some shit that was downright harmful and then hide behind death of the author saying thats just how you interpereted it and therefore thats on you.

Ive also seen them use word of god canon to also deny making something thats garbage.

Ive seen audiences willfully misinterperet content in the most twisted ways to suit an evil agenda.

Ive also seen them use word of god canon as an excuse to attack and marginalize people.

People are just fucking garbage and will use whatever they can to act that out i think.
