@LexYeen It took me years to learn how to do it well, and I had a running start as a painter.

The main trick is to stick them to cardboard using a strip of double sided tape, leave them to dry thoroughly then file edges and apply them with gel super glue (It's the same as nail glue, just not as messy).
If you get glue on them you can apply a clear top coat when they're on, it obscures it.
