@phryk Yes you literally can't even because you don't know how the system works. Let me remind you that we have case law precedent here:
Under eBay v. Newman, the law is as [Senator Al] Franken said: “it is literally malfeasance for a corporation not to do everything it legally can to maximize its profits.”
Amazon cannot pay workers more without shareholder approval.
Amazon cannot reverse course on automation and employ more workers without shareholder approval.
Amazon cannot stop destroying the competition, the environment, yadda yadda without shareholder approval.
Bezos does not control the course of Amazon; the shareholders do. Even minority ones can sue the shit out of him for not taking every action possible to maximize profits.
Bezos set this machine in motion 20 years ago but you are delusional if you think he steers it now. I don't even think he could petition the government as a Good Samaratin to change laws without opening himself up to legal action.
I don't think he's someone we should feel sorry for, but I'm certain it's lonely up there.
Bezos is a symptom, not the cause. Wake up.

WE control the course of this country. but it seems the citizens have forgotten. No Gerrymandering or voting manipulation could ever overcome a 90% voter turnout for an election.
It can be done, but we need to stop fighting over petty shit and start agreeing on working towards solutions that benefit all of us instead of letting the GOP constantly divide us on fringe issues.

@phryk citizens giving other citizens their own money is NOT the solution. The solution is taxes & UBI & other social programs to lift people up.
I guarantee you if I start handing my friends cash we will not be friends for long. It creates friction, will make them feel like they are indebted to me, will become a major issue if we ever have a disagreement on something, etc etc.
Use your head.
