     @Laurelai if there's anything I've learned in my own years of dealing with people who've spent all their emotional energies defending abusive peddlers of bullshit...nope, you'll not get a single apology from any of the crowd. they've written their excuses for not apologizing well ahead of time. "well I was just erring on the side of caution" or whatever

     @Laurelai as ever, in a society still dominated by white colonialist morality, manners are weaponized. aggression and abuse are fine as long as they're aimed at acceptable targets, and it's not polite to make too much noise about injustice. after all, it's Just As Bad[tm] to be angry about receiving routine abuse, in some nebulous fashion, as long as the abuse has social sanction
