   Could you imagine if the current illegal immigrant workforce were given citizenship and then they formed unions? That would completely flip this country on its head.

     You have to consider that this country benefitting off the labor of millions who we cannot exist without and who do not receive rights and protections afforded to the rest of the country smells a bit like slavery. We already know they get abused and mistreated.

     @lain that was Lenin's solution and it's not infeasible, but I don't like the consequences of that any better. It will not be pretty. I'd rather we find a diplomatic solution without bloodshed
